Our why was established by mission-based entrepreneur Tessa Edison launched Building London Bridges (BLB) in 2017 to honor her mother, a native Washingtonian who lived on London Bridge Drive in Maryland and was always dedicated to serving those in need.

Our mission is to enhance visibility for small, local charities in the Greater Washington area that are committed to eliminating homelessness, building affordable housing, and supporting underserved communities.
our goal
Our goal is to bridge the gap between donors and smaller organizations that are without dedicated fundraising teams. We aim to increase the availability of transitional housing in underserved communities, complete with comprehensive support services, with a special focus on education and reskilling programs to prepare individuals for the future workforce.
